Guest Post: DogGone Candles

While scrolling through Instagram a few weeks, I stumbled across a suggested account: DogGone Candles, a Beaver-based business creating non-toxic beeswax candles and wax melts that are both dog-inspired and cruelty-free. When I clicked the account, I was  hooked by the fun puns that the products are named after (and ya’ll know how much I love a good pun) and immediately reached out to its owner Tiffani to gauge her interest in a guest post, and I was thrilled when she said yes. In my third guest post, get to know Tiffani of DogGone Candles as she shares more about her hand-poured, all-natural dog-themed candles and opens up about her biggest influences.

Tell me a little about your company?

DogGone Candles was an idea I came up with several months ago. [I’ve] always loved candles, but being someone who is committed to living a healthy lifestyle for me and my dogs, I found it troubling that most candles are highly toxic. I started making my own with beeswax and 100% natural and organic fragrances. Not long after I came up with the idea to have dog-themed candles with dog-inspired names. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love not only my dogs but all dogs!

What sets DogGone Candles apart?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog-themed candle! I think it’s something that will definitely catch the eye of all dog lovers!

How did your fur kids become a part of your family?

I have two female yellow Labrador retrievers. Presley is a 9-year-old American Lab and Hope is a 5-year-old English Lab. We’ve had both since they were puppies. Hope, I believe, was sent special after the death of our Lab Lillie in 2012. She is a healer of hearts for sure for me, my husband, and Presley who missed her companion greatly. Her name is Hope because of the hope she brought in healing and opening our hearts again.

How have Hope and Presley helped shape your brand or mission?

They have taught me so much about love and life. I think of them all the time and they are the reason for the idea.

Who or what are your biggest influences?

This may sound crazy to some, but in all honesty, dogs have been my biggest influence. My lab Lillie was dealt a rough time when she was older. She had a hard time walking and breathing. She never gave up. She taught me so much. I promised her I would always fight for all dogs the way she fought every day to keep going.

What has been the most exciting or rewarding thing since launching DogGone Candles?

Just seeing how much people love dogs like I do! [I’ve] also talked to so many great small business owners and dog charities, which has been awesome!

Tell me more about your products.
