Penny Lane & Mac – Beaver County Pet Photography

As we inch closer to a new month and a new season (one of my favorites), it feels like summer has reached its unofficial end. If you’ve been following me on Facebook, Instagram, or here, you may recall that September brings the release of Bark & Gold Photography’s first annual pet calendar. I am just a few days away from publishing the ordering link, but first I’ve one last calendar contest session to share. Time to meet Penny Lane and Mac.

If you didn’t pick up on it, these two- and six-year-old Havaneses are named after The Beatles. After all, their mom Emily is a self-proclaimed Beatlemaniac.

“I am a huge Beatles fan and almost every pet I’ve ever had has been named after a Beatles song or has had a Beatles theme. Penny Lane is named after the Beatles’ song Penny Lane and Mac is short for McCartney, named after Paul McCartney.”

“Penny Lane and Mac were rescued from a puppy mill and brought to FurKid Rescue to be placed in a forever home,” shares Emily. “I met both of them and had a hard time choosing between the two. I eventually chose Penny Lane. Three days letter I called and asked if I could adopt Mac as well.”

Emily requested images that captured how cute they are together and how much they love each other.

“Before I adopted them, they knew each other, but [they] were not bonded. Now they do everything together and you will rarely find them separated,” says Emily adding, “People ask me all the time if they are siblings, and the answer is no–just best pals.”
