It’s been a while since I’ve shared a before-and-after, so I thought week 29’s sky theme was a great opportunity.
You see, while I intended on using Hunter for this week’s photo, living on four heavily wooded acres doesn’t always allow for the best views of the open sky, so I turned to a favorite image of mine from a recent session featuring Bailey James, a pit bull/mastiff puppy. (If you want to see more of Bailey, follow the link below.) The sky was a little flat that evening, but boy–did a few cloud overlays really amp up this image! Go ahead and play around with the slider to see the before and after.
I choose three different sky overlays to incorporate. After I got the overlays positioned and blended, I made certain to create a new layer and flip them vertically to add a more realistic reflection of the clouds on the pond. A few additional tweaks to the saturation and voilà: a puppy portrait with a punch!
