Rainbow Sessions

What is a Rainbow Session?

Rainbow Sessions are for pets preparing to cross the Rainbow Bridge due to illness or aging. You can devote this time entirely to capturing images of your pet or join in if you wish.

Every Rainbow Session includes a $499 product credit so you can remember your session with heartwarming images and beautiful memories by which to celebrate the joy and love between you and your pet during what is undoubtedly a difficult time. Most clients choose to enjoy their images in a fine art album or heirloom folio box that provides a beautiful keepsake for many years to follow.

"Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us, these quiet friends, is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives." - John Galsworthy

It's Never "Just a..."

It's never "just a" dog or "just a" pet. It's the little things that you’ll want to remember forever: the way your pet’s paw felt in your hand, his familiar expressions, those funny quirks, and the love you share with one another. I promise to approach our time together with zero judgment and complete compassion.

Your Story at Your Pace

Our time with our furry friends is so fleeting, especially during this time. We'll step back from the uncertainty and stress and slow all that down with a calm, relaxed session that can be held on-location at a favorite spot of yours or in the privacy and comfort of your home or backyard. Your pet is my top priority. This is your story at your pace.

Priority Scheduling Available

Due to their nature, Rainbow Sessions are given scheduling priority whenever possible.

If your session is time-sensitive, please be sure to share that upon inquiring about availability. Every effort will be made to accommodate your desired session date.

Why would anyone want photos of this difficult time in their pet's life?

There is a wonderful saying, “When we think of those companions who traveled by our side down life's road, let us not say with sadness that they left us behind, but rather say with gentle gratitude that they once were with us.”

The reality of losing our beloved companions can feel incredibly sad, but Rainbow Sessions are designed to be a celebration of your relationship with your pet. I photograph the little things that you'll want to remember: the way your pet's paw felt in your hand, his familiar expressions, those funny quirks, and the love you share with one another. Clients who have done a session express great appreciation in having beautiful keepsakes to maintain that irreplaceable connection and reinforce how these photos have helped ease the difficult pain of watching them grow older.

How do I know if a Rainbow Session is right for me?

This type of session certainly isn't for everyone--and that's OK! Only you will know if investing in a Rainbow Session is right for you and your pet.

While I encourage you to capture the memories of your dog while he is happy and feeling/looking good, there may come a time in your pet's life when he has progressed to a point that you don't want to remember him in that way. If that is the case, do not feel bad about simply appreciating the photos that you already have of him. Rather than forcing yourself into a session that may result in images too heart-wrenching to look at once your pet has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, take comfort in spending the remaining time you have left together. You will value that time just as much.

Does my Rainbow Session include anything?

Your Rainbow Session retainer required to reserve your session converts entirely to a $499 product credit at your reveal and ordering appointment that may be used toward your favorite products. Most clients invest in a signature collection that includes a range of products or an heirloom folio box or fine art album, two of my most popular Rainbow Session products.

I want photos, but I worry about some cosmetic issues associated with my pet's age/illness.

I am happy to correct cosmetic issues, such as missing fur, removal of masses, cataracts, swelling, tear stains, etc. in post-processing to ensure your pet looks the way you want to remember him. This is a concern we can discuss these type of concerns, as well as any mobility issues, during your pre-session consultation.

"Thank you so much for your gift and card for Girly's passing. As you can imagine, we are heartbroken but so glad we all got to work with you for her session. Those are pictures we will always cherish.  Thank you for your kind words and for the beautiful pictures we have of Girly forever."

"We wanted to let you know how much we appreciate the time and care you took in capturing Dory in the many outstanding photos you took of her. We also wanted to commend you for the most professional approach you take in all aspects of your business, from the session to the ordering appointment meeting to the most professional presentation of your finished creation. It is most refreshing in this day and age to encounter someone who really takes pride in their service. Well done!"
