Reserved for Aged & Ailing Pets
Rainbow Sessions are for pets preparing to cross the Rainbow Bridge due to illness or aging. You can devote this time entirely to capturing images of your pet or join in if you wish.
While I can't turn back time, as Pittsburgh's first pet photographer with a pet loss grief specialist certification, what I can give you are heartwarming images and beautiful memories by which to celebrate the joy and love between you and your pet during what is undoubtedly a difficult time.
It's Never "Just A..."
It's never "just a" dog or "just a" pet. It's the little things that you’ll want to remember forever: the way your dog's paw felt in your hand, his familiar expressions, those funny quirks, and the love you share with one another. I promise to approach our time together with zero judgment and complete compassion.
Your Story at Your Pace
Our time with our furry friends is so fleeting, especially during this time. We'll step back from the uncertainty and stress and slow all that down with a calm, relaxed session held on-location at one of my suggested session locations.
Together, we'll tell your story at your pace.
Priority Scheduling Available
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you think your session may be needed urgently. Every effort will be made to accommodate your desired session date and I also offer time-sensitive “emergency” sessions that can be scheduled outside of my regular session times; these sessions incur a $75 additional fee.
Pet Loss Grief Specialist Certification
As Pittsburgh's first pet photographer also certified as a pet loss grief specialist through One Last Network, I promise an empathetic, supportive experience, to connect you with the support and services you desire, and to hold space for you to embrace the love you have for your pet.
"Thank you so much for your gift and card for Girly's passing. As you can imagine, we are heartbroken but so glad we all got to work with you for her session. Those are pictures we will always cherish. Thank you for your kind words and for the beautiful pictures we have of Girly forever."
Girly's mom Polly
"Jes was absolutely the most patient, kindest, and compassionate photographer you would want to handle your precious fur kids. I cannot thank her enough for not only capturing beautiful memories of my girls but for her kindness, compassion, and gentleness with all of us! She is truly a special person (and a strong supporter of animal rescues), and I would highly recommend Bark & Gold Photography to any of you who would be interested in capturing your own special memories."
Angel, Ella, Willa, and Roxy's mom Pat
"We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Bark & Gold Photography. Every single detail was clearly communicated with us from beginning to end. Jessica is clearly devoted to making sure that she has plenty of info about your pet and your expectations of the shoot. She also responds very quickly to emails and is willing to answer any questions you may have throughout the process. I can’t thank Jessica (and her husband) enough for being so patient and gentle with my senior Bull Terrier. The images she captured were beautiful and I wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again."
Chico's mom Jen
"You absolutely captured George! They are all beautiful and please know that this will have a very special place in our home. Thank you for providing us [with] 'George's senior picture.' You have given us a beautiful keepsake."
George's mom Christy
