2021 Pittsburgh Dog Photography Superlatives, Part 2

In last week’s end-of-year review, the first of a two-part series, I revealed the first-ever Bark & Gold dog photography superlatives that included recognition for Longest Licker, Best Celeb Lookalike, Most Athletic, and others. In part two, I’m wrapping 2021 up in a big beautiful bow by sharing my product-focused superlatives. If you’ve ever wondered, How will I ever decide how to display my images? I want them all!, let these top picks inspire you!

Disclaimer: This list and the accompanying featured product images are compiled all in good fun. I appreciate (and have a hard time parting with) each of my clients’ artwork and thank you all for trusting me to create these beautiful products for you!

Most Popular Frame Option: Reclaimed Barnwood

I suppose I could’ve called this the Most Obvious Favorite Frame Style, but Most Popular Frame Option sounds a little more eloquent. I’m not surprised that these reclaimed barnwood frames topped the list for signature wall art, honestly. Handcrafted right here in the USA, these frames feature repurposed wood from old barns, fences, marine wood, and floorboards for a true one-of-a-kind look that cannot be replicated. They’re stunning in their own way with their inherent roughness, nail holes, splinters, knots, and color variations that make them…well, perfectly imperfect.

Among the barnwood options, the whitewash and natural two-tone, as shown was the preferred pick. This is one of my favorites for most portraits as well as the whitewash adds a matted look without requiring an actual mat.

Favorite Gotta-Have-‘Em-All Product: Fine Art Album

For those clients who just couldn’t bear the thought of saying goodbye to any of their pet’s portraits, fine art albums captured the number one spot. Seeing the excitement as they got to customize everything from the luxury linen color and personalized text to the peek-a-boo cover image and the visual story that its thick, lay-flat pages held was a repeated reminder of why I do what I do: to tell your story your way.

Top Boutique Add-On: Classic Folio Box

Boutique add-ons are not only great for gifting, they’re ideal for that handful of pet portraits that didn’t make your wall or fine art album. Among the most popular of 2021 was the classic folio box, which holds five matted fine art prints. Think of this as the baby brother to the larger luxury linen heirloom folio box that, by the way, will be getting a bit of an upgrade for 2022.

Most Popular Calendar Contest Session Product: Heirloom Folio Box

Many winners of the 2022 Biggies Bullies pet calendar contest who chose to upgrade their complimentary session to a standard session embraced these popular heirloom folio box as their product of choice. With the option to hold 10 or 20 matted fine art portraits, these artisan-crafted, vegan-friendly boxes were each customized to the smallest details to create a versatile and unique option for preserving their prints.

Speaking of calendar contest, I’m gearing up for the 6th annual Biggies Bullies pet calendar contest, which launches on Monday, January 10, 2022. We’ve got a $25K fundraising goal for this year and over $1K in weekly mini-contest prizes up for grabs in addition to 13 grand prizes, which include a featured month or the coveted cover of the 2023 Biggies Bullies pet calendar. This is going to be a year you won’t want to miss! Be sure to join the Bark & Gold Photography VIP list today to be the first to hear when the fun kicks off and about promo days, special offers, and more!

In the meantime, Happy New Year! Cheers to an amazing 2022!
