This is what's waiting on your wall
Clean lines, hand-deckled edges, soft matte finish, no frame required. Just your dog, silhouetted against the last light of the day, floating on your wall like it was always meant to be there.
What to Expect
Tranquil. Connected. Colorful. These sessions are built around that magic window of light just before the sun disappears and your dog, silhouetted against the most dramatic skies Pittsburgh has to offer, in his purest, most joyful self. You're welcome to step in front of the camera too.
Milan Kundera said it best: "To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring—it was peace."
There's a reason people set reminders for when registration opens.
What Pittsburgh Pet Parents Are Saying About These Sessions
"When I saw Jessica’s Silhouette Sunset Sessions, I had never seen anything like that before and knew I wanted to capture my Italian Greyhounds, Isaac and Noah, this way. We captured so many stunning photos that I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted for a wall canvas. I ended up wanting so many of the photos that I decided I needed all of them in a gorgeous, linen-bound album. They are so striking and truly fine art!"
Isaac & Noah's mom Angie
"Jes has a way with animals. She managed to capture my dog and my interactions with him exactly as I imagine them. She creates stunning portraits, wall art, and photo albums that make me smile and that I'll cherish forever. My heart soars when I look at the images and how she captured my crazy dog's personality. I can't thank her enough for giving me these memories and images."
Eli's mom Gretchen
"Jessica is an amazing photographer & we loved each session we had with her. I would recommend her to anyone because she is the whole package; kind, talented, patient, and so responsive! All correspondence with her was so quickly answered and addressed. Thank you for capturing all our beautiful memories for us to enjoy for years to come!"

The Artwork
As a Certified Printmaker, I'm with you from first inquiry to the moment your artwork lands on your wall.
Whether you're filling that empty space above the fireplace or building out a full wall, every piece is archival quality and made to be seen every day, not stored away. It's the kind of thing you walk past a hundred times and still stop for.
Beyond your included edge float, additional wall art, folio boxes, and smaller boutique add-ons are available exclusively to Silhouette Sunset Session clients, starting at $510.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my dog can't be off a leash?
Most people don't believe their dog will ever behave well enough, long enough, or at all for me to get good photos, and even more tell me it's because their dog can't go off-leash. Sound familiar? These are completely normal concerns, and neither is a requirement for your session. I take a no-pressure, relaxed approach to our time together. Close to 80% of dogs I photograph are leashed—not that you'd ever know, thanks to a little post-processing magic. For these sessions specifically, I actually prefer your dog leashed, both for safety and to help guide him into position.
What if there's no sunset that day?
A little secret: none of the Silhouette Sunset Sessions I've photographed were held on evenings when we had a true sunset because, you know...Pittsburgh. That's where the magic of post-processing comes in, which allows me to create a beautiful, natural sunset regardless of the conditions we're presented with. In the event of inclement weather, your session will be postponed to the scheduled rain date(s).
Is this a fit for reactive, shy, or slow-to-warm up dogs?
The safety and comfort of your dog are always my number-one priorities, but you ultimately know your dog best. While I have experience and patience working with a variety of behaviors and temperaments, from rambunctious to reactive, Silhouette Sunset Sessions are faster paced and scheduled at a location with a high probability that we will encounter off-leash dogs, other people, etc. If you or your dog will not be comfortable and confident in this type of situation, I encourage you to book a standard session where we can work at his pace in a less busy location.
Do I have to be in the photos?
Of course not, but I'd encourage you to jump in for at least a few.
Since these are entirely blackened silhouettes, no one's going to see your details anyway, so the "I'm not photogenic" excuse doesn't apply here. I'll guide you through natural prompts and interactions with your dog so you'll feel anything but stiff or awkward.
What options do I have for displaying my images? What about digital files?
Wall art is the main event. Every session includes an 11x14 edge float: a frameless, matte piece with hand-deckled edges that floats right on your wall. From there, you can add larger sizes, different finishes, or an essential folio box of five matted prints designed exclusively for these sessions—and not available anywhere else in my lineup. Invest $995 or more, which includes your session fee, and receive the matching high-resolution digital files to every product you order, automatically.
How much should I plan to spend on products?
My job is to create images so good you'll want them all, and honestly, that's usually what happens.
Most clients invest in a combination of wall art, an essential folio box, and boutique add-ons, with additional products starting at $510. You'll make every decision at your ordering appointment, where you're only ever choosing what you love most.
