CALLING ALL PITTSBURGH DOGS
portraits with a purpose: tails of the world: volume three
I'm looking for 10 dogs to feature in the Tails of the World Collective's fundraiser coffee table book, Tails of the World: Volume Three, a gorgeous collector's edition book featuring professional photographs of dogs from around the world with the proceeds from session fees and sales of the books donated to animal charities both on a local and worldwide level.
Each year, professional pet photographers worldwide unite to raise funds for animal rescue. To date, the annual Tails of the World books have featured over 1,150 dogs and raised over $95,000.
In 2024, our goal is to raise $70,000 with Tails of the World: Volume Three.
The Details
Tails of the World: Volume Three is a collaborative project from pet photographers all around the globe united in their mission to make a difference for animals in need. It is the brainchild of Australian pet photographer Caitlin J. McColl who founded the project in 2022.
Bark & Gold Photography has been selected as the official 2024 Pittsburgh photographer.
- All Pittsburgh area dogs are welcome to apply!
- A $95 registration fee* includes your custom pet photography session with Bark & Gold Photography (valued at $195) to create beautiful artwork of your dog and a one-image feature in Tails of the World: Volume Three.
- 100% of this registration fee benefits a Pittsburgh area recipient rescue (announced on May 1) and 100% of book sale proceeds are donated directly to Geelong Animal Welfare Society.
- Book project sessions will be held throughout June, July, and August 2024 at select locations within the greater Pittsburgh area.
Tails of the World: Volume Three will be designed and professionally printed by Caitlin J. McColl and will be available for purchase online in December 2024.
*Your registration fee does not include any digital files, prints, or products. Prints and products, which start at $510, are purchased separately at your ordering appointment.
The Experience
The Bark & Gold Photography experience is all about celebrating the joy and love between Pittsburgh pets and their people, telling your story your way through wall art, fine art albums, and other heirloom products.
During our time together, your dog has just one job: to be a dog. Toss all expectations and worries aside and allow me to capture your best friend as you know and love him while spoiling him with all kinds of tail-wagging goodness!
Within a few weeks, you'll have the opportunity to view and purchase his beautiful photos from his special day. (While the session itself is a blast, my clients tell me that this ordering appointment is actually their favorite part.) Be prepared for plenty of happy tears as you see for the first time the natural, expressive, and connected portraits he worked to create especially for you!
As a bonus, your dog will have one portrait, chosen by Bark & Gold Photography, included in the Tails of the World: Volume Three fundraiser coffee table book, which will be available in late 2024.

Founded by Caitlin J. McColl in 2015, the Tails of the World Collective is an international group of professional pet photographers. We are united in our mission to make a difference for pets in need and celebrate the universal love of dogs.
To date, we have published over 40 books from all around the globe and raised over $150,000 for animal charities.
