On Saturday, Healthy Pet Products hosted its 10th annual Healthy Pet Day event. This four-hour fun-filled event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its North Hills store located on McKnight Road and included free seminars, complimentary samples, and in-store sales on all-natural food, supplements, and more.
Various local pet-related vendors joined in the festivities, many offering prizes and giveaways via the store’s basket raffles with all proceeds benefiting the on-site rescues attending Healthy Pet Day.
Two- and four-legged customers enjoyed browsing the baskets and special deals on their favorite treats and toys. Chloe was especially excited to see what her parents picked out for her whereas Gander patiently waited by his mom’s side as she filled out her raffle tickets.
One of my favorite parts of the day was getting to meet and photograph some of the adorable fur babies. There were puppies galore this year! Just look at these two!
The Healthy Pet Products parking lot transformed into an outdoor event area with vendor tents welcoming Pittsburgh’s best pet-friendly businesses and several fantastic local rescue groups like the American Brittany Rescue, Three Rivers Greyhounds, The Proper Pit Bull, and Senior Hearts Rescue & Renewal. Puppy Cake was definitely a doggy-favorite for those looking to cool off as the morning clouds cleared and bright sunshine added to the heat of the day.
McCandless Sgt. Bryan Madden and his partner, K9 Officer Joy, presented an impressive police dog demonstration that attracted a large crowd. It was great watching their connection and loyalty as Joy demonstrated how she detects drugs in a vehicle and performed a K9 bite.
I love how engaged all the dogs were as they watched this high-energy demonstration from the sidewalk.
