Creating Your Pet’s Fine Art Album

If you simply don’t have space for signature wall art or when you find it nearly impossible to narrow down your favorite images, fine art albums become a fantastic option. With their ability to potentially include all of your session images in an engaging storytelling style, fine art albums are one of Bark & Gold Photography’s more popular products, but have you ever wondered what goes into creating them?

In this post, I’m giving you a glimpse at how I create your pet’s fine art album and why it just may be the perfect product for you.

What is a Fine Art Album?

Bark & Gold Photography’s fine art albums remain unmatched in beauty and craftsmanship, making them a true work of art.

Each includes 20 portraits (with the option to add additional images in groups of five), beautifully highlighted in a 10×10 custom-designed layout of seamless spreads arranged as thick, lay-flat pages with slightly rounded corners. A luxury linen cover, available in a variety of colors, beautifully complements your chosen photo cut-out and creates an I-can’t-wait-to-open-this anticipation. Feel this puppy in your hands and I promise you’ll be blown away!

Fine art albums are available in the gold collection or a la carte, starting at $1,995 for a 20-image album, which includes the matching high-resolution digital files of ordered album images.

Telling Your Story Your Way

There are a few ways to approach choosing album photos following your pet photography session, but first, you need to determine how many you’d like your fine art album to highlight. In terms of numbers, you can:

  • Narrow it down to those 20 must-have portraits, which are included in the base price of your album.
  • Add a few sets of five to the included 20 (for an additional $425/set of five) to ensure you get every single favorite.
  • Opt not to break your heart by saying goodbye to any and add them all!

Once we’ve determined the number of images we’re working with, we’ll compare and cull to determine the exact portraits that I’ll be designing your page layouts around. Often, this is impacted by the photos that you feel convey your connection to your pet, express his personality, make you laugh, and that you just can’t imagine not having for many years to follow.

Designing Your Pet’s Fine Art Album

No two fine art albums are ever alike thanks to ultra-personalized options. Not only are you selecting the images you wish to include, you’re also in control of the luxury linen color, the peek-a-boo cover image, and whether you’d like to add any personalization to your cover in the form of a gorgeous gold imprinted title.

After finalizing these details during your ordering appointment, I begin arranging your page spreads via Smart Albums, an album-building software that allows me to drag, drop, and design your fine art album from cover to cover.

View a sneak peek of your fine art album via a convenient, private, and intuitive cloud-proofing interface to ensure yours arrives exactly as you envision. This interface allows you to virtually flip through your pages, leave comments as needed, and approve or request minor revisions such as swapping images within a page layout, changing image placement on a spread, adjusting image sizing, etc.

Following your approval of your fine art album, it’s sent off to my professional lab where it’s handcrafted to guarantee superior quality that exceeds even the highest expectations. Upon its completion, which typically takes about four weeks, your fine art album is shipped to me for one final inspection before I photograph some detailed shots and package it for in-person delivery to you.

It is! You almost can’t even describe it and fully understand how lovely these are until you feel them in your hands. They’re far from the average photo book or scrapbook!
