Bark & Gold Photography is all about celebrating the joy and love between Pittsburgh pets and their people. There’s something particularly exciting about listening to pet parents gush about their fur babies, quirks and all! That’s why one of my favorite parts of your pet photography experience is our pre-session consultation. In the first of this four-part series, learn more about the first step in working with Bark & Gold Photography.
If you’ve never worked with a professional pet photographer, or you’ve only dealt with “shoot-and-burn” model, you may never have heard of a pre-session consultation. Essentially, it is the first step in booking your session. Perhaps more importantly, it helps determine if I’m a good fit for your pet and your photography needs. Your pre-session consultation is our time to establish expectations for your session (and one another) and provides you with the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns you may have surrounding your session.
Typically, pre-session consultations are done over the phone. Some of the topics I typically cover during your pre-session consultation include
- a general overview of the Bark & Gold Photography experience,
- session fee and product pricing,
- how to create a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your pet, and most importantly
- how you plan to display your images after your session.
We’ll also discuss your dog’s personality, including what gets his tail wagging, what drives him bonkers, and what I need to do to create a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your pet.
Shortly after our phone consultation, you will receive a follow-up email that includes the next steps to book with Bark & Gold Photography with links to my pre-session client questionnaire and photography agreement. At this time, you will also pay your non-refundable session retainer so that we can go about setting up a date and location for your photos.
And with that, I officially get to welcome you to the Bark & Gold Photography family! As a member of the pack, you now have unlimited access to your own password-protected client portal, an extensive list of suggested session locations, your complimentary session guide to assist in your planning, my product and design guide, wall art gallery inspiration, and more!
