Ruby the Cavapoo – Pittsburgh Dog Photography

“If my son reaches out to you to schedule a session, ignore him.”

Those were the words that Marc’s mom Sue told me after she reached out to purchase a session for him and his one-year-old Cavapoo Ruby. Sue saw my vendor table at Healthy Pet Products’ Healthy Pet Day this past spring and just knew this would be the perfect gift for him and Ruby, adding “He loves that dog so much. That’s his baby. We want to surprise him with this.”

A Bark & Gold gift card went out to Sue to gift Marc with on Ruby’s first birthday as I patiently waited to hear from Marc.

Ruby is undoubtedly a special part of Marc’s life, another gift of sorts from his parents who he credits with helping find the perfect dog for him.

“She was found through a local newspaper from a breed up in [the] New Castle area.”

Ruby, originally a bright-red-haired beauty has grown into an adorable blonde–and as they say: blondes have more fun!

“She is very active and energized,” explains Marc. “She loves to go for walks and play with her toys.”

In early November on a blustery afternoon, Ruby, Marc, and Sue bundled up and joined me at Brady’s Run Park. Despite the strong breeze having recently lifted many of the leaves from the trees, we were fortunate that small pops of vibrant fall colors remain strewn throughout the park.

For more muted tones, we headed toward Brady’s Run Lake and the streams that run into it. Ruby was a pro strutting her stuff along the paths and giving her best over-the-shoulder glances and distant gazes.

During his reveal and ordering appointment, Marc was particularly drawn to Ruby’s playful portraits, choosing to include several of them in a four-piece grouping for his office, as well as one larger 20×30 framed print for his bedroom. He also chose to add on a gorgeous acrylic block and received three bonus products, including an 8×8 leatherette and metal top memory box, his session slideshow, and a set of three 3×3 mini accordion albums.
